Are olive wood dog chews safer than a stick?

There are lots of good sticks that dogs like to chew on in the park so why would I buy an Olive Wood Chew?

In fact, there are many advantages to this chew and they are even safer for dogs than sticks you would find in the outdoors.

A young dog will chew on anything they can get their teeth stuck into, which is why our Olive Wood chews are the perfect solution. Completely natural and non-splintering, they help to remove tartar and support healthy teeth, keeping your dog happy.

It is no doubt that dogs chew on whatever they can get their teeth on. It’s a natural instinct, it helps them relieve stress and reduce boredom and anxiety. Therefore It’s important to make sure your dog has appropriate chew toys, especially from a young age.

Sticks are often considered a fun and healthy way for our fur babies to play but they can actually be quite detrimental to our pooch’s health. Broken branches that have been laying on the ground for a while can become soft and will fall apart easily. Dogs can then swallow these wooden splinters which can puncture tongues, mouths, throats and intestines. Not to mention that some types of trees are highly poisonous to our pets, so to enable your dog to continue their love for chewing on sticks and stay safe I always recommend Olive Wood chews.

Our Olive Wood Dog Chews are naturally harvested from close-grained olive trees which means they are very dense and compact in structure – harder than most native woods. They are then graded, dried and sanded and treated with olive oil to create a wholesome, safe and satisfying chew toy for your best friend. These chews provide an opportunity to spend quality time with your dog and encourage your dog's natural desire to exercise his jaw while assisting with plaque and tartar build up on their teeth. The shape of the wood creates a natural chewing action which is healthy for your pet because it allows him to exercise their gums while improving dental health by removing tarter build up naturally.

When your dog chews on our Olive Wood dog chews, small, soft, pulpy pieces break off which are absolutely fine for them to digest. Unlike sticks found in the park no large pieces break off.

At Doggy Delights we have 3 different sizes of Olive Wood Chews, as they are a natural product they are graded by weight and not size so can vary between each stick.
