Do you clean your dogs ears?
I always find it best to have prepare everything I need before I start the process of cleaning my dogs ears. Nelly in particular hates having her ears cleaned whereas Alfie enjoys it! Ear cleaning is process that is best started whilst they are a young pup so they can get used to it.
1. Squirt a few drops of ear cleaner
2. Massage the base of the ear
3. Let your dog shake
4. Wipe canal with moist cotton
5. Repeat with other ear
6. Give your dog a treat
Some breeds are prone to really dirty ears so its really important to keep them clean. Cleaning your dogs ears regularly also helps you to spot an ear infection early.

- 1 Teaspoon Vinegar
- 1 Teaspoon Clean Water
This vinegar solution works to not only clean the ear, but it also adjusts the pH within the ear so that yeast, fungus and bacterial infections are less likely to grow.
Use it to the clean the ears of dogs who have frequent infections. Use apple cider vinegar or distilled white vinegar for this recipe.
𝙳𝚘𝚐 𝙴𝚊𝚛 𝙲𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚗𝚎𝚛 𝚠𝚒𝚝𝚑 𝚃𝚎𝚊 𝚃𝚛𝚎𝚎 𝙾𝚒𝚕
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 Drop of Tea Tree Oil
The tea tree oil which is also a natural tick repellent, has anti fungal properties that are effective at eradicating yeast and fungal infections. No matter which oil you choose, it must be diluted with a carrier oil such as olive oil. Mix the oils well before use.

- The dog is protecting the ear and will not allow touch
- Head tilting towards the side of the infection
- Head shaking
- Scratching or pawing at ears
